At WALK Church, our mission is to free people to walk in Jesus and our vision is to redeem the city of Las Vegas and impact the world.
Jesus came to set people free to walk in loving relationship with Himself, and He has entrusted His church with the message of reconciliation of all things (2 Cor. 5:16, Eph. 1:7). We believe God’s mission and vision for Walk Church is to continue the work which He started thousands of years ago. Freeing people, redeeming cities, and impacting the world with His Gospel.
Our strategy for seeing our mission and vision fulfilled is found in one key word: RELATIONSHIPS. We believe that Christianity is not merely a religion or a moral code, but a relationship, which results in Jesus living His life through His Church. In Colossians 2:6, this relationship is described as a WALK. Our strategy focuses on restoring three main relationships by implementing the following walks:

ABIDE
Before we ever walk in Him, we first must abide in Him. In John 15, Jesus uses the imagery of a branch abiding in a vine to illustrate the life of a Christian. At WALK Church, we define this word abide as: Living in fellowship with Jesus every moment of every day. Practically, this looks like spending quality time with Jesus in His word, personal time with Jesus in prayer, and effectual time loving one another inside the family of God. As we abide in Christ, He then begins to walk His life through us, and the result will be nothing less than spiritual fruit that looks, tastes, and feels like Jesus!
A church that is not invested in its local community is not a Biblical church. Jesus defined this model for us individually and corporately by the way he invested in the lives of His disciples, the crowds around Him, and the cities He visited. In the book of Acts, we get a firsthand view of Jesus continuing His investment, however now He invests His life into others through the vehicle of His church. At WALK Church, our desire is to continue to allow Jesus to change this world through us, we believe Jesus invests in the community in two primary ways:
INVEST
INVESTING IN THE FAMILY OF GOD
We invest in our WALK Church family in three distinct ways. Large gathering, small gathering, and one on one. Our large gatherings will consist of weekly corporate worship services that will come together in celebration of all that God is doing in the life of our church family. This celebration will consist of worship through song, teaching, giving, and fellowship. The second way we invest in our Walk family is through our Charge Groups. These groups are small huddles of Jesus followers, which meet weekly for the purpose of doing life together and discipling one another. Inside the Charge Group there will be opportunities to teach, pastor, and pray for one another. The third way of investment is through one on one discipleship. A recent statistic proved that 90% of disciples made, attribute their spiritual growth to a one on one relationship.
INVESTING IN THE CITY
While investing in our WALK Church family is a vital part of our fellowship and spiritual growth, investing in the city we live in is essential as well. God has entrusted to each one of us the ministry and message of reconciliation, which involves the reconciliation of all things – even the city! (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). We want to invest in the community we live in as well as the people we see on a daily basis, even if that means sacrificing our comforts to demonstrate the love of Christ! We believe that the harvest in Las Vegas is plentiful and that by using our God given talents, passions, and domains to invest in our city for the glory of Christ, we will see our city won back to Jesus!
God’s vision for WALK Church is much bigger than one church in one city. King David wrote in the Psalms, “God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him” (Psalm 67:7 NASB). At Walk Church, we want to live out the commission given to us, which is to develop Kingdom leaders and raise up disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). Throughout His ministry, Jesus was continually calling people to COME to Him and then GO share the good news with others. For this reason, success at WALK Church will be defined less by the number of people in seats on Sunday and more by the number of disciples being equipped to build and expand the Kingdom. It is our desire to mobilize disciples to engage in what God is doing both locally and globally.
MOBILIZE
GLOCAL CHURCH
Locally, we intend to mobilize disciples through what we call domain engagement. Domain Engagement involves utilizing the unique gifts, abilities, and areas of influence within our congregation as a platform for sharing the Gospel with groups of people that may otherwise go unreached. We also intend to plant another Walk Church in Las Vegas by 2018.
Globally, our goal is to adopt an unreached people group in a resistant part of the world and faithfully commit to serving them with gospel intentionality on a long term basis. This will involve consistently visiting the country to train leaders and make disciples, while also looking for opportunities to plant churches globally and mobilize our church body to go.
